Apply For a Grant

Support through philanthropic giving

UTC is proud to support causes that affect its businesses and employees. UTC funds qualified 501(c)3 U.S. organizations and the equivalent nonprofit organizations outside of the U.S. in our emerging markets that meet its eligibility criteria and operate in the company's focus areas. UTC's grant making is centered on the geographic regions where our employees live and work and within the following three focus areas:

  • Building Sustainable Cities: Born out of our commitment to achieve maximum energy efficiency in our products and our operations, UTC funds programs that support energy efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility across the globe.
  • Advancing STEM education: UTC inspires students to embrace science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We support the development of the next generation of engineers, scientists, and finance professionals by sponsoring primary school to university-level programs that spark students’ interest and inspire innovation.
  • Supporting Vibrant Communities: UTC enhances the well-being of the communities in which we operate because we believe positive engagement encourages growth and vitality and helps us attract and retain the best employees.

The UTC philanthropic contributions program will not fund:

  • Individuals
  • Religious activities or organizations
  • Municipalities
  • Dues or gifts to alumni groups that are not distributed to the eligible higher education institution
  • Fees for publication or merchandise
  • Booster clubs
  • Sororities or fraternities
  • Political groups
  • Organizations engaged in or advocating illegal action
  • Any organization determined by UTC to have a conflict of interest

UTC Corporate Headquarters grant applications

 

Business unit grant applications

UTC Corporate Headquarters accepts grant applications between January 1 and June 30 of each year.

Applicants are eligible to apply for a grant one time per calendar year and will receive notification within one quarter of their application submission. UTC accepts grant applications only online, and applicants will be notified only by e-mail if additional information is required as part of the online review process.

UTC's business units accept grant applications between January 1 and June 30 of each year.

Applicants for business unit grants – Otis, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, UTC Aerospace Systems, UTC Climate, Controls & Security, United Technologies Research Center - will receive notification in the first quarter of the calendar year in which funding will occur.

Note: Non-profit organizations may apply to only one UTC business - either Corporate Headquarters or one of the UTC business units (Pratt & Whitney, Otis, etc.) - in each calendar year.
